For your Canadian Rockies Getaway Circle, travel through scenic valleys, the Coast Mountains range and the Fraser Canyon with its spectacular white water rapids and dramatic landscape. You will follow the route of the Fraser River, home of British Columbia’s largest salmon run, pass by the Albreda Glacier and magnificent Pyramid Falls, and hopefully see wildlife on the way. The highlight of this route is majestic Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.

Day 1: Vancouver Arrival

Arrive in Vancouver and spend time exploring this scenic city on your own.

Day 2: Free Day in Vancouver

Take full advantage of a free day at leisure in Vancouver and check out Vancouver’s must-see attractions. This afternoon, transfer to Vancouver International Airport for your flight to Sonora Resort in the Discovery Islands. Tonight, enjoy a delicious wine-paired dinner featuring the seasonal best of BC.

Day 3: Sonora Resort Optional Activities

After a delicious breakfast, take advantage of the wealth of included activities at Sonora Resort. Sonora’s all-inclusive outdoor amenities include a swimming pool, hiking and biking trails, tennis court, a putting green, fly fishing ponds (equipment supplied) and more.

Day 4: Free Day at Sonora Resort

Enjoy Sonora’s rooftop hot tubs, mineral pools, movie theatre, 9 hole putting green, virtual golf, or saunas. Later this afternoon, bid a fond farewell to Sonora Island and fly back to Vancouver.

Day 5: Vancouver to Kamloops

Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia’s interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River.

Day 6: Kamloops to Jasper

Follow the banks of the North Thompson River through the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains, climbing ever nearer to the high peaks of the Continental Divide. Today’s highlights include Mount Robson, at 3,954 metres (12,972 feet) the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Pyramid Falls, and the climb over the Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park.

Day 7: Jasper to Lake Louise

Travel to Lake Louise via one of the most scenic highways in the world, the Icefields Parkway. A stop will be made at Athabasca Falls before arriving at the Columbia Icefield. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geological features.

Day 8: Lake Louise to Banff

This morning you are free to explore beautiful Lake Louise on your own. After lunch, a half-day tour takes you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Among the attractions are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River.

Day 9: Banff Sightseeing

This morning you are free to explore scenic Banff on your own. After lunch, enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Banff and Banff National Park. Among the highlights are visits to Bow Falls, the Banff Gondola (admission included), Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos.

Day 10: Banff to Kamloops

Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the mountain town of Banff to Kamloops, in the heart of the British Columbia Interior. View the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass and Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven.

Day 11: Kamloops to Vancouver

Your journey continues west towards the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver. On today’s journey you will again see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the Interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Coast and Cascade Mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon.

Day 12: Vancouver Departure

Your vacation ends upon checkout from your Vancouver hotel.
