Disney Cruise Line announces all-new experiences aboard Disney Fantasy starting May 2017. Now, kids can set sail for adventures like never before at Disney’s Oceaneer Club. At the top of the list is Star Wars: Command Post. Here, your child can journey to a hidden resistance base where they’ll train with real Star Wars™ heroes—and do battle with actual Stormtroopers. They can even interact with holographic models in a one-of-a-kind Star Wars experience.
Disney is also adding Marvel Super Hero Academy—where kids can learn from real-life Super Heroes about the values of courage, compassion, and responsibility. For the first time on board Disney Cruise Line, kids can learn the mystic arts from Doctor Strange himself—opening portals into different locales around the Marvel Universe.
Families can also indulge in the new specialty ice cream shop, Sweet on You, featuring 20 handcrafted gelatos, 16 ice cream flavors, and 32 toppings. Best of all, it’s themed after the charming new Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts. And finally, we’ll open the first-ever Tiffany & Co. store on board Disney Cruise Line, filled with timeless jewelry from its legendary collection.

Port Canaveral, FL
Affectionately nicknamed “Florida’s Fun Port,” this vibrant seaport in Central Florida is conveniently located near sandy beaches, major theme parks, the Kennedy Space Center, the Brevard Zoo, hotels, restaurants, universities, shops, and the Orlando International Airport. Enjoy the picturesque, 40-acre Jetty Park with its 1,000 foot fishing pier. Drive a few minutes south to gorgeous Cocoa Beach, the surfing capital of the state, and stroll along the boardwalk. At the port, you’ll enjoy modern facilities and accessible parking so you can enjoy yourself before or after your cruise.
Tortola, British Virgin Islands
This modern hotspot for vacationers was first settled by the Arawak and Carib peoples, who were attracted to the island’s potential for sailing. In 1493, Christopher Columbus spotted the island and—it is believed—dubbed it the “Land of the Turtle Dove.”
For centuries afterwards, Tortola would only be occupied by wandering pirates, including the infamous Captain Blackbeard and Captain Kidd who sought refuge in the island’s secluded coves. Sopers Hole, a small cove on the western tip of the island, used to be biggest pirate hideout in the Virgin Islands!
In the 17th century, the Dutch occupied the island, only to be succeeded by the British, who maintain control over the islands to this day. As late as 1792, British authorities called Tortola “a pirate’s nest.” Travelers today are happy to find that they can experience island life the way it was meant to be lived here: in total bliss.
St. Thomas/St. John, US Virgin Islands
A destination that boasts so many sites for sport, relaxation, and leisure still preserves a culture that is influenced by its agricultural and native past. At certain times of the year, you may encounter outdoor performances by dance troupes who keep the traditions of the native Arawak Indians alive. You may also stumble upon arts and crafts fairs where local handicrafts are sold, from pottery to baskets and jewelry.
An area beloved today for its pristine tranquility and peaceful way of life was—for 150 years—a notorious pirate post before the islands were conquered by the Dutch West India Company. Thereafter, the islands became primarily sugar cane plantations.
From golfing to snorkeling, shopping and sunbathing, interest in the U.S. Virgin Islands as havens for vacationers has transformed them over the years into world-class retreats. Here, you can bask on a white-sand beach, immerse yourself in the warm waters of crystal seas, or explore the tropical terrain by bike. Peruse over 450 shops for excellent luxury-item bargains, enjoy over 40 breathtaking beaches, or play golf on lush fairways.
Disney Castaway Cay
Castaway Cay visitors find an island completely outfitted for premium family leisure. Ample amenities include sprawling beaches, sparkling lagoons teeming with curious sea life, splash-worthy water play areas, scenic walking trails, open-air BBQ dining locations serving complimentary meals, two shops featuring Castaway Cay gifts and souvenirs, free tram transportation around the island, and more.
Take advantage of Disney Character Greetings, such as Dance Party with Lilo and Stitch. When you’re ready for some solo time, supervision for children ages 3 through 12 by Disney counselors is available at Scuttle’s Cove, an on-island kid’s club.
In the morning, you will disembark your ship and head to the airport for your trip home. Or, extend your Disney vacation and spend time at Walt Disney World® Resort, or opt for an excursion to the world-famous Kennedy Space Center.
